Ramrod 5 Shocks the Niners
Game: 33
With only 5 players at the game, Ramrod once again found a way to compete under fatigue. The aging Niners were visibly struggling to play at a high level on back-to-back nights so team Ramrod only having 5 players seemed to bring both teams to a comparable level of fatigue, resulting in a highly entertaining game. The contest remained within a couple of possessions from the early stages on the 1st half with neither team able to shake free for a double digit advantage. In the final minute, the lead changed hands several times and Ramrod found themselves with a 1 point lead before coughing up a turnover and giving the Niners a last second chance at heroics. Rohin Judge came up with the loose ball and was forced to hoist a half court shot which sailed wide right “Finkle-style”, sealing the 81-80 win for Ramrod. Paul Kuperus poured in his routine 24 while teammate Sean Wragg had his best game of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Rohin Judge added 11 in his farewell performance including a pair of critical back-to-back triples in the second half. Sean Van Diepen started off hot in the first half and finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Reid Fralick finished with 21 points 10 rebounds and 5 steals for the win but the story on this night was line-mate Steffan Favis. Favis finished with a game-high 27 and also added 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
