Hawks no contest against Colts

The Charlotte Colts went down to Fayetteville and blanked the hosting Carolina Hawks 35-0  at Reid Ross Classical School. DB Brandon Beam sacked the QB in the Hawks end zone to get the safety for a 2-0 lead. Quarterback Darius Thomas, the 2007 North Carolina Prep Player of the Year, was 15 of 20 completions for 322 yards with 4 touchdown passes and a rushing TDs. His first TD pass was to WR Jay Shelton from 5 yards outs. His second was to TE Jon Hankin for 20 yards and his third was to Al Bryant for 50 yards, all in the first half.

The beginning of the second half, Thomas marched the offense down the field in four plays where he finished the one minute and seventeen seconds drive with a one yard TD run. In the fourth quarter he threw another TD pass to Rashad "Cheetah" Fletcher for 28 yards. The defense recorded seven sacks in the game. Linebacker Raphael King led the defense in tackles with eight While LB Daryl Grier recorded seven tackles. Safety Terrell Partlow had an interception and defensive end Ramon Azular had a fumble recovery.

The Colts will be at home next Saturday August 23rd when they host the new CCFL member East Carolina Rams.
