C&S Spills Padres Holy Water

• At C&S Design 5, 15, Proctor 2, 0 — C&S Design (3-1) got strong pitching performances from Kody Schmock and John Sopiwnik in a sweep of the Padres (0-2).
Schmock struck out 13 and walked three in the opener while allowing seven hits. Sopiwnik fanned 11 with no walks in the nightcap on a three-hit shutout. C&S Design scored three runs in the first inning of the opener and pushed its lead to 5-0 with two more runs in the third. Ricky Bretting, Jake Schraufnagel and Blake Ellefson each had two of C&S Design's nine hits. Corey Pavlich and Chris Musolf each had two hits for the Padres. C&S Design had only five hits in the nightcap and broke the game open with a nine-run second inning. Sopiwnik had two hits, and he and Bretting each scored three runs.
C&S Design goes to Superior June 7 for a doubleheader. Proctor visits the Ashland Merchants Sunday.
