DAMF HISTORY AND PURPOSE

DAMF
 Derry Area Midget Football
PO Box 161 New Derry PA 15671

The Derry Area Midget Football organization has been in existence since 1958. We are proud to say that from our beginning, 50 years ago, we have never charged a participation fee to anyone who has joined one of our teams. Annually we have over 200 participants between grades 1st-6th grade, both players and cheerleaders. Over the years, there have been thousands of young boys and girls who have gone through our organization to go on to play and cheer at other levels. Many return to DAMF to give back to an organization that has given so much to them.
DAMF is located 52 miles East of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the little town of Derry. We belonged to the Keystone Bantam League for 48 years. With the 2007 season, DAMF switched to the PAC-6 League and in 2014 became part of the Tri-County League. In 2019 DAMF joined the WGYFL (Washington Green Youth Football League). We will face the following teams in 2019.... Greater Latrobe, Uniontown, Yough, Albert Gallitin, Ringgold, Charleroi, Southmoreland, Elizabeth Forward and Mt. Pleasant.

Our players and cheerleaders learn: Teamwork…Tradition…Tenacity…these are some of the most important values children in our community learn to appreciate when they participate in the Derry Area Midget Football organization. Values they will carry with them throughout their lives. We are hoping that their DAMF experience will last as fond memories as they grow into adults.
Today we are asking you to ensure that those memories are a bit brighter by making a commitment to the best experience these kids can possibly have. In 2008, we built a pavilion located near the DAMF practice field at the high school facility. This structure provides our young players and cheerleaders with a currently nonexistent shelter from inclement weather as well as a meeting and team-building place. In addition, the pavilion is available to general school and community use per request.

Teamwork – together we will make this project a success
Tradition – this pavilion will be a place where current traditions are celebrated and new ones are born
Tenacity – our hard work will be worth it, as the benefits will be appreciated for many years to come
