Titans Win 9th Grade AAU National Championship

Cale Leads Diamond State Titans to AAU Title

 

 




6'3" point guard Myles Cale hit a three-point basket with 18 seconds to go to lead the Diamond State Titans (DE) to a come from behind victory over Baltimore's Finest to win the 9th grade boys basketball AAU title in Hampton, Virginia this past weekend.

Cale scored 15 points and Eric Ayala from Sanford School hit for 18 points as the Titans won 62-60 in the championship game. 6'4" Elias Revelle added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Delaware squad and 5'8" Kineph Turner from Howard (DE) High hit the clinching free throw to seal the victory.

Cale, from Appoquinimink High (DE), is the #2 rated player in Delaware in the class of 2017. He was a first team Flight A All-Conference selection this past 2013-2014 season. He also scored 28 points in the semifinal game as the Titans defeated Central Western (NY) 73-59. Revelle of Howard High (DE) chipped in with 16 points and Ayala hit for 12 points.

The Titans had a strong team which included the 6'2" Ayala, who is the #1 rated player in the class of 2017 in Delaware and is a National Top 50 player in his class. He averaged 9 rebounds per game in the tournament and is a scoring machine.

Revelle, who is the #9 ranked player in the class of 2017 in Delaware, is a great rebounder and shot blocker who helped the Titans win. He will be a very good player for Howard this winter.

The Titans were 7-0 in the tournament and were coached by Curtis Clack. Mr. Rod Griffin heads the Diamond State Titans (DE).
