2019 Summer Has Just Begun, Ltd Space Avail, Details Below

June 13, 2019

Our Spring Session finished at the end of May with our annual trip to Reno for the Reno Memorial Day AAU Event.  With Spring finished our Summer Session has just begun and signups are happening now.  And we do still have limited space available so if you are looking for a great summer or year round basketball program to join, please read on...

A little about the Bulldogs, this is our 23rd year teaching this game and developing players here in the tri valley.  Over that time, we have had over 100 players go on to play in College and literally hundreds to the HS Varsity level.  We pride ourselves in teaching the game.  We do that by focusing on playing Man to Man defense and running our Bulldogs Read and React Motion Style Offense.  It is an aggressive, up-tempo style of basketball that is both fun to play and watch.  Practice is the most important thing to us.  A lot of AAU teams look to practice maybe once a week and play tons of games every weekend.  Rather, we really believe in the minimum 2 practices to 1 game formula.  So our schedule works well for us.

This Spring, the Bulldogs had 23 teams including a boys HS teams, 2 girls teams, 9 ALPHA Elite teams and 11 Seasonal Boys Competitive Club teams.  For Summer, we expect to have about 18 teams in total.  In that, we will be offering our Summer Competitive Bulldogs Club teams as well as our ALPHA Elite program for those that qualify.   Our Competitive Club teams are open to Boys and Girls, 2nd Grade to HS Varsity while our ALPHA Elite program is open to boys 3rd to 8th grades.

A Little About Each Program:

  • Seasonal Competitive Club Teams - The Bulldogs Seasonal Competitive Club teams have been the heart of our program since it started 23 years ago.  We run 4 separate sessions every year.  Each session is 2 to 3 months long (3 months for Summer, June, July, Aug) so families can do the session / sessions that best their schedule.  The teams are open to Boys and Girls, 2nd grade to HS Varsity with multiple teams, separated by skill level at each grade so there are places for kids of all skills, from Beginner to Elite to play.  For the Summer Session, we will practice twice a week (Tues / Thurs at Harvest Park and PMS in Pleasanton) and play 8 to 10 league games in the highly competitive MVP league in the Walnut Creek area.  In my opinion, the MVP League is the best league in CA, best facilities, best refs, best rules, best teams etc.
  • ALPHA Elite - Our Alpha program is for our more skilled, more committed boys (hope to add a girls Alpha program next Spring if interest is there), boys that know this game is what they want to focus on.  The program is 8 months long (March 1 to end Oct) and includes Spring, Summer and Fall sessions (2 prac a week, league games on weekends) as well as 3 to 4 local tournaments and the Reno AAU Event over Memorial Day Weekend.  This year,  we are also considering the Las Vegas "Grande Finale" in late July.  Alpha also gets about 20 extra practices (10 in Spring, 10 in Summer).  Lastly, for making this 8 month commitment to the Bulldogs, families get some substantial discounts.
  • Summer Offensive Skills Clinic - This Summer, we will also be running our highly popular Offensive Skills Clinic.  This program is line an extended basketball camp.  The program is 10 sessions long (Wednesdays from 6 to 7:15 PM at Harvest Park MS in Pleasanton from June 19 to Aug 21.)  This program is open to all kids that want to work on their skills.  You don't have to play for us, although many of our players do these skills programs we offer.  That said, if you are on another team and want extra work on your skills or you can't commit to a team right now but want to work on your game to get ready for an upcoming tryout or just love hoops, the program is open to you.
  • SUMMER DISCOUNTS - One other thing, for Summer, we offer our Vacation Discount program.  This is the only session we offer this program.  The way it works is, we understand families take vacation in the summer.  So for Summer, if you are going to miss a week or two or three, let me know when you sign up and we will give you a discount for those weeks.  That way, you are only paying for the time you are here.  We also offer our Player Referral program.  In this program, for every player you bring to the program (outside your family) that actually signs up with us, you get a $50 discount towards your next session.  These are two great discounts that are unique to the Bulldogs.

So there you go.  If you are interested in any of these programs, shoot me an email and I will get you all the details (pgleclaire@comcast.net).  Also, I recommend you keep checking back here for updates.  Again, summer is a 3 month session (June, July, Aug) with 2 practices a week, mainly on Tues / Thurs evenings at Harvest Park MS in Pleasanton (times and locations for each grade on our calendar link).  We also will play 8 to 10 league games in the MVP League in the Walnut Creek area with games starting the weekend of June 15, 16.  We have multiple teams at each grade separated by skill level so there is a place for all players, from the beginner all the way to the Elite.

With that all in mind, if your interested, don't delay.  There are only a few spots left in each grade.  Thanks and we hope to see you all in June,
