Elkhorn Girls Softball has recently partnered with EAA (Elkhorn Athletic Association), and our Slammers Select Teams will soon all carry the Elkhorn Edge name. When more than one team is fielded in an age division our colors: Red, Black, White, and Silver are added. Edge teams are available in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U age brackets.  These teams complete in  the Greater Omaha Softball League. Tryouts are held at the end of June at the Elkhorn Training Camp indoor facility and Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Elkhorn.  Dates will be posted on the Elkhorn Athletic Association ( website in the June time frame.

Elkhorn softball teams are now able to use the new indoor Elkhorn Training Camp Facility for winter practices. The facility has large quads available for infield practice, Iron Mike pitching machines for hitting, and also several lanes available for live pitching/hitting. Teams are also allowed to use the school gyms of the Elkhorn School District for practice once per week during fall/winter.

Slammers/Edge teams will typically play 30 to 60 games during the summer season. This includes about 16 to 20 league games and 3 to 10 weekend tournaments. In addition, some teams will participate in fall leagues or tournaments.

The Slammers/Edge program is geared towards players and families that have shown a strong interest in the sport, have demonstrated they have a better than average skill level, indicated they want to play against challenging competition, and who is willing to make a commitment to practice and develop a good work ethic.

It is critical that any Slammers/Edge player have the complete parental support. The average cost per player ranges from $900-1200 per season. A smaller registration deposit will be required at tryouts, with this deposit being refunded if the player is not invited on one of the select teams.
