Elkhorn Slammers 8U All Stars Overview:

EGSA Softball is now offering an 8U All Stars program.

This program is a step higher than our 8U Recreational Coach Pitch league and a stop below our 10U+ Select offerings.

Elkhorn 8U All Star teams are built through the tryout process.  Tryouts are held in July at Ta-Ha-Zou-KaPark in Elkhorn.  Dates are posted on the organizational website in the June time frame.

Teams will practice once a week during the fall and winter seasons. Then twice a week during the spring season.

The 8U All Star team will play league games in the Elkhorn 10U recreational kid pitch league, consisting of 12 to 16 games. The team will also play in 2-4 tournaments throughout the season. The number is left up to the head coach and families to decide.

The goal of this team is to provide more structured practice and additional development opportunities when compared to a recreational league, while trying to no over stress the young softball player with the demand of a full blown select commitment.

The team will carry the Elkhorn Slammers name.  When more than one team is fielded in an age division our colors: Red, Black, and White added.

The 8U All Star program is geared towards players and families that have shown a strong interest in the sport, have demonstrated they have a better than average skill level, indicated they want to play against challenging competition, and who is willing to make a commitment to practice and develop a good work ethic.

It is critical that any Slammers player have the complete parental support. The average cost per player is around $300 per season.   Upon accepting an offer to play on a Slammers team, registration including an initial fee of $200 is required to hold a spot on the roster.

Slammers teams practicing in the winter using the gyms of the schools in the Elkhorn School District to host a practice once a week.

EGSA sponsors a pitching and catching open house on most Saturday mornings between October and February.
