ELROSA--The Elrosa Saints displayed one of their finest outings of the season Wednesday night with an impressive 10-4 victory over the Raymond Rockets. The Rockets, who are last year's defending state champs and ranked #1 in Class C, allowed 7 runs to score in the fourth inning as they saw an early 3-1 lead slip away. Aaron Vogt started on the mound and threw 4 effective innings before departing for Mt. Rushmore. When Vogt jumped in his minivan, the Saints took off as well as they took advantage of a number of walks, hit batsmen, and timely two out hitting to throw a 10 spot on the scoreboard. From that point on, the orange and navy never looked back as Ethan Vogt threw the final 5 innings of the game to pick up the victory and the defense didn't commit an error to preserve the win. Pat Illies was the only Saint to connect for an extra base hit as station-to-station hitting throughout the game seemed to be the most efficient offense Wednesday night. Cody Eichers continued to rip the cover off the ball with three hits to lead the team. Friday night the Saints host New Munich before traveling to Meire Grove on Sunday for the regular season finale.
