EGSA BOARD MEETING

August 20th,2017

 

Board members present: Jason Stebbins, Matt Morcus, Jonathan Becker, Shelby Marquadt, Gina Cekala, Ladd Gowen, Rich Stoddard, Josh Newman

Board members absent: Jay Bradley, Dave Pino, Rex Lyver, Jess Lyver

 

Meeting Called to order @ 7:05pm

 

Fall Registrations:

-Currently 3 Junior players registered

-1 Majors team can be fielded

-2 Minors teams can be fielded

-2 Rookie Teams can be fielded

Somers may have some minors and rookies register with Enfield.

One week left before registrations end, if no more juniors players register 2 are eligible to play down in majors, 4 majors players could be moved up if needed to complete juniors team. The possibility exists for 1 additional minor and rookie team to be created.

Towns involved at different levels: Ellington, Newington, Tolland, East Windsor, Somers, South Windsor, Coventry, East Hartford, Manchester

Potentials: West Hartford, Vernon/Rockville, Rocky Hill, Windsor, Bolton

Schedules should be out in a week and a half, games to be played Saturdays starting at 12;00pm, if played during the week most likely Enfield and Windsor under lights

-Uniforms need to be ordered after registration closes, by Monday August 28th

- Duffy to schedule Umpires once schedule is out and have town groom fields(Higgins, Eli Complex, Whit Acres, Enfield Street School)

-Jonathan and Josh to check equipment status(probably need 3 dozen 11” and 3 dozen 12” game balls)

First aid kits should be sufficient

Higgins to be utilized Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekend nights

 

Eli Road Fence:

-Status is materials for dugouts ordered, paid for and should be sitting at location designated by town for install

- Install may take place prior to Labor Day

- Pricing to remain the same until July 2018 so remainder of fence can be purchased for next summer install.

 

Extreme 10U wrap up:

-          They won 2 games, overmatched but young team

-          Core group of players returning so each family to receive $200.00 back and remainder to be put towards indoor practices and conditioning for group returning and any new players that make the team for the upcoming winter

-          Need to focus on more aggressive base running to be up to par with other towns

 

Equipment collection from spring to be checked, Jason to reach out to coaches

Recruit High School players to help teams this fall and work the winter clinics
