University of Southern California to bring $1 million in park improvements to Hazard Park

Hazard Park in Boyle Heights receiving $1M check from the University of Southern California for park improvements including jogging path, new toddler playground, additional security lighting, outdoor exercise equipment, upgrades to tennis & basketball courts and $100,000 for youth sports programming – Jose Huizar, LA Parks Foundation, the Department of Recreation and Parks , Hazard Park Preservation Committee worked with community and USC to bring these improvements- USC also is building street on their adjacent land valued at $1.5M instead of thru park – total commitment to Hazard is $2.6M and more than that, a commitment to partner more in the future!
