    HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
    Ode to MOMS
On a picture perfect weekend in Clearwater, FL the Fire learned a valuable lesson: "You can't win them all!"

Although the event was a great test of the FIRE resolve the worst thing happned in bracket play in that the FIRE met in the semi-final a team it had beaten soundly in pool play (10-1) who played a better game. The Fire were eliminated and ultimately placed 4th due to the score of 7-1.

"WE just got beat by an outstanding team that out played us TODAY!" was quoted Coach Ralph. Adding, "We knew they were capable" and "Unfortunately the game did not go our way". The loss was just the first in over 25 plus contests within the age group.

"Hats off to their team" stated Coach Mark. "After the inside the park triple that was declared a Home run on a close play at the plate I had to suspect it would not be our day."

The Moms present were rewarded in the first game of the day with a pre-game ceremony uniting them with their sons for a picture and a gift of a rose and some candy. The first game went all Fire over the Lakewood Longhorns by a score of 7-0.

The Fire finished outside of the top 3 for the first time in over 15 events. The last was a 12 U Majors event. The team plans to go back to practice with a renewed sense of urgency with the ELITE 24 Qualifier up next.
