BAT SPECIFATIONS for 2009 (NEW!)

Before you go out an purchase a bat this season... check out the IMPORTANT changes to the Bat Specifications for 2009!
NO 2 3/4" BATS IN ANY LEAGUE! NO 2 5/8" BATS IN TEE-BALL, COACH-PITCH, KID-PITCH 9-10 and KID-PITCH 11-12!
FYA follows Little League Baseball's guidelines on bat specifications...
TEE-BALL (JR & Regular)! - A bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
MINOR LEAGUE (COACH-PITCH)! - A bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
LITTLE LEAGUE MAJORS 9-10 (KID PITCH 9-10) (U9) (U10)! - A bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
LITTLE LEAGUE MAJORS 11-12 (KID PITCH 11-12) (U11) (U12)! - A bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
JUNIOR LEAGUE (KID PITCH 13-14) (U13) (U14)! - A bat shall shall not be more than 34 inches in length; nor more than 2 5/8 inches in diameter, and if wood, not less than fifteen-sixteenths (15/16) inches in diameter (7/8 inch for bats less than 30”) at its smallest part.
All non-wood bats MUST be stamped that the bat has a BPF of 1.15 or less. Most bats purchased in the past couple of years already have that BPF stamped into them.
THESE RULES ARE PUT INTO EFFECT FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CHILDREN PLAYING THE GAME! IF YOU ARE A COACH or PARENT WHO BELIEVES THAT "THE KIDS COME FIRST", THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE AGAINST THIS RULE CHANGE. MUCH STUDY AND TESTS (Years) HAVE BEEN PERFORMED THAT BACKS THIS RULE CHANGE. THIS RULE HAS BEEN MANDATED BY LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL!
