FORNEY MOURNS COACH'S TRAGIC ACCIDENT
CITY OF FORNEY IN SHOCK & SADDENED
Late Friday evening/Early Saturday morning, FYBA Minor League Coach Jimmy Jimenez was killed tragically in an auto accident. The accident occurred on the frontage road of I80 near East Fork Road. Jason Cannefax, a friend and assistant of Jimmy's team, was also killed in the accident.
Jimmy was Head Coach of the Forney Bulldogs (see picture on left... Jimmy is in the top left hand corner). The Bulldogs recently won the FYBA Minor League End-of-Season Tournament! As well as coaching the Forney Bulldogs, Jimmy spent several seasons as an umpire in Forney and was also a Coach and Vice President of the FSA (Forney Sports Association... Forney Longhorns). Jimmy was also instrumental and a great help with FYA (now FYBA) and FSA as the organizations' Banker at Capitol One in Forney. FYBA offers its deepest sympathies to the Jimenez family... if there is anything FYBA can do, please do not hesitate to ask.
This is a great shock and loss for the city of Forney... FYBA is taking this very hard as well. Jimmy was not only a coach and banker for the organization... he was a friend. He always took the time to stop and talk about baseball or whatever the topic of the day was... He will be missed.
In Lieu of Flowers, the Family has asked that Memorials may be made to James J. Jimmy Memorial Fund at any Capital One Bank location.
