    2008 preseason announcements
    The Cardinals will be returning many veterans of the program for the 2008 season. Already signed up to return for the summer is 2007 MVP Erik Hisner, newcomer of the year Matt "Sasquatch" Hille, cy young award winner Jaime Feldheiser, and rookie of the year Julian Bostleman. Add to the mix Matt Holycross, Kraig Miller, Jared Paker, Matt Perkins, Corey Oetting, Kyle Heppard and the returning Travis Owens and the Cardinals start off with a stacked lineup.

    Newcomers include, from Anderson University, Daniel Hiatt and Chris Jarrett, from Indiana Tech, Corey Schwartz and Jimmy Shaffer, and from Tri State University, Anthony Hammond, Josh Selvey and Travis Case and the future is looking brighter than ever!

    The Cardinals are still in negotians with 7 more players to sign up for the summer and should finish those contracts in the near future.

    The schedule highlights will be the three game Great Lakes swing against the Grand Lake Mariners, the Anderson Servants and the homecoming for the New Haven High School players as the Cardinals will do battle with the Lima Locos at New Haven High School. The season will also include a trip to Chicago this year to play against the Gary Patriots, someone from the skyscraper league and possibly Michigan City on the way home. Over the fourth of July holiday weekend, the Cardinals will do battle with some of the midwest best teams in the United States Baseball Congress tournament in Fort Wayne and will finish the season with the CABA baseball tournament in Fort Wayne for their first ever world series appearance.

    The Cardinals would also like to congradulate the 2008 Hall of Fame Inductees, Bryan Rumple, pitcher and Chris Anderson Outfielder. The ceremony will be conducted prior to the Cardinals June 28th fireworks game.
