GFAHA Board

​​GFAHA board meetings are usually held the second Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m., at the Crystal Inn near the IcePlex. The public is encouraged to attend. If you have any items you would like to present to the board, please contact the President or Vice President prior to the meeting.  All are welcome!

Below are the positions for election as well as a brief overview of each responsibility as stated from the Bylaws. All those in attendance will vote for a President, Secretary, Treasurer and your child’s division representative. If you have more than one child playing you will vote for a representative in each of your children’s division (if applicable).

The Secretary, Treasurer, and Division Representatives hold voting positions on the Board. The President is able to vote if there is a split decision on a matter. All terms are 2 year terms (except for the Secretary – see note below).

Other expectations are attendance at 75% of the monthly meetings (second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Crystal Inn), communication to your team manager and coaches as applicable, and motivation to continue to improve our Association.

There are several Board members who have been part of the Board for many years and our players will soon be done so we would like to mentor new Board members to continue the success of the Great Falls Amateur Hockey Association!

President – The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Association and, subject to the control of the Board, shall in general, supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Association. He/she shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors. He/she may sign, with the Secretary or any other proper officer of the Association authorized by the Board, any deeds, mortgages, bond, contracts or other instruments which the Board has authorized to be executed, except in cases where signing and execution thereof shall be expressly delegated by the Board or by the Bylaws, or by statute to some other officer or agent of the Association; and in general he/she shall perform all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time. 2 year term.

Treasurer – The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds and property of the Association and shall keep full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements of all monies received and paid by him/her on behalf of the Association. He/she shall exhibit such books of account and records to any members of the Board upon request and shall render a detailed statement to the Board as often as it shall be required. He/she may sign and endorse checks and other commercial paper on behalf of the Association when counter signed by the President or Vice-President. He/she shall perform all duties which are incident to the office of Treasurer of a corporation not for profit under the laws of Montana. He/she may be required to give bond for the faithful discharge of duties. Prior to the Annual meeting and one (1) time annually, the Treasurer shall arrange for a formal audit of the corporate books and shall report the results of such audit at the annual meeting. 2 year term.

Secretary - The Secretary shall:
(a) Keep the minutes of the proceedings of the Annual Meeting and all Board meetings.
(b) See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws.
(c) Be custodian of the corporate records of and of the seal of the Association and see that the seal is affixed to all documents which have been authorized.
(d) In general, perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary and such other duties as from time to time, may be assigned to him/her by the President or the Board.
***This will be a 1 year term up for re-election at the annual meeting in 2019 as it is currently being filled by an interim volunteer. ****

High School Representative – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 1 Representative needed as 1 will stay in current position.

U14 (Bantam) Representative – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 Representatives needed.

U12 (PeeWee) Representative – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 Representative needed.

U10 (Squirt) Representative - Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 1 Representative needed.

U8 (Mite/Rec League) Representative - Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 1 Representative needed.

 

There will be 2 drawings for half off registration fees for the 2018-19 season.

 

Each parent that attends the meeting 

will have an opportunity for their name to be entered in the drawing!
