COOPERSTOWN RESULTS 10U WEEK
The GREAT 8 teams that attended COOPERSTOWN
this year made some noise!
Out of 96 teams from all over the
United States including Hawaii:
FIRE - Tied 3rd Place
DYNASTY ELITE & CANES - Tied 9th
ENFORCERS - Tied 31st
The FLORIDA CANES knocked off the defending
Champion San Diego Stars
1-0 in a SWEET SIXTEEN battle. Pitcher Jason Heinrich
out dueled the Stars
batting order to record a complete game shutout.
The Dynasty Elite made it to the SWEET SIXTEEN also
before losing to Tamiami rivals MIAMI BRAWLERS.
The FLORIDA FIRE placed the highest of all the teams making the FINAL 4
after beating the BRAWLERS in the round of eight ... then losing to the eventual Champion CHATTANOOGA CHIEFS in the SEMI-FINALS. The FIRE were
10-2 in 5 days and their only other loss was to TSB Baseball (#1 Seed after pool play) the runner up team.
The MIAMI ENFORCERS did not fare as well as the teams that stayed on
Dreams Park campus. Their strategy of getting more rest off site did not
pan out as anticipated. Going 6-1 in pool play they lost to the 44 seed
Fresno Blue Devils in their first elimination game.
The combined records of the teams were 31-9 in the week of play.
Congratulations to all that participated. Some players from Great 8
rosters were present without their teams. Panthers coach Greg Ernewein
and his son were present as well as others like player Jon Register from the Bullets Gold.
