MANAGER'S UPDATE
To our friends, family, community and business leaders:
The 2005 baseball season was the most exiting the kids have played to date. Highlights include the winning of the 2005 AAU DIV.2 WORLD SERIES in Florida by defeating the 2 time Champion Goose Creek Diamond Backs of South Carilina and finishing 2nd. in the CABA Ultimate World Series in Chrstal Lake Il. loosing to the EAST COAST ASTROS of Ga.
The team played 44 games of travel baseball, the results are as follows:
OVERALL RECORD: 34-9-1
TOURNAMENTS: 6 CHAMPIONSHIPS 1 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and Two 2nd. place finishes
STATE RANKING: 1st. (ILLINOIS)
NATIONAL RANKING: 2nd.
You can visit us on the web and keep track of all the games and rankings at usasportsranking.com.com and click on baseball-illinois-state or national ranking-15 year old and select go to.
As you know the Grades, Attence and Top Baseball tournaments are the best way for these inner city kids to get exposure to the National Market Place of Div.1 Colleges and to the Major League Scouts.
With the success of this team, we are being invited to national tournaments all across the United States. Since the Chicago Park District does not fund our association we must raise our own funds for our teams to travel.
We welcome any ideas on ways to raise money, including corporate sponsorship for the entire team. The kids, as always, still do their own fund-raising door to door, and work the food stand at house ballgames during the season.
The cost to sponsor a single child's complete travel has risen to compete at the National Level to $1500.00. However, we welcome any donation you can make, and your entire donation is tax deductible. Please make checks payable to Hamlin Park Baseball Association and note on memo (in left hand corner of check) to 16 year-old division.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity, and please feel free to contact me directly should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
John Krenger
