    STARS ALIGN - MOON SETTING ON FIRE
    The top news of the day had to be an upset win by the Dynasty Elite over the host Florida Fire in a late after noon game that finish just as dusk set on Chase Park. The Miami travel team had not beaten the Fire in multiple tries in the past year and came away with a gift wrapped 11-5 win. Star of the game was left handed pitcher Michael "Crafty" Suarez.

    Other Game Stars included: Game 1 - Auston Smith (Warriors);
    Game 2 -Chris Catcher Hernandez (Enforcers); Game 3 - Tyler Levin (Warriors); Game 5 - Ryan Olenek (Fire); Game 6 - Austin Bergner (Bullets); Game 7 - Michael Suarez (Elite).

    Pictured are games 4 & 8 Game Stars: Spencer Diaz for Panthers and Dylan Strickland for the Bullets.
    (Other pictures will be added in days to come)

    The Bullets flirted with forfeiture of their first game arriving just under the wire to start the first game minutes before the impossed deadline for grace period expiration. They had 7 football kids jump out of their cars and quickly get on the field for play. Once they got settled in they rode the back of pitcher Austin Bergner for 6 full innings of work. Jon Register came in to pitch the 7th inning and pick-up the win. Bullets 3-2 over the disgruntled Hurricanes of St. Pete.

    As the lights went on the Bullets got another gem performance from their lefty Strickland. Another complete 6 inning game - the maximum allowed by tourney rules. The Bullets went to 2-0 and have the near lock on the top spot.

    Both Coral Springs and the host Fire have long shot chances of getting in to post-pool CHAMPIONSHIP play. Each must either get help from games they are not involved with directly or throw shutout wins while scoring football like tallies. At 2-0 the Warriors of Wellington are another team in great shape starting the day. The Warriors got heroics from many in the opening game of the event but Auston Smith lead the way to a big victory. In their back-to-back wins they used 6 pitchers ... none threw more than 3 innings. The close game against Dynasty was scoreless going into the bottom of the 5th inning. Tyler Levin drove in the game winner
    and the win went to Joey Genord to complete the 3-0 shutout. Lou Pugliese and Phil Sieli each pitched 2 run free innings as well.

    At the end of day one:

    2-0 Warriors
    1-1 Dynasty Elite
    1-1 Fire
    0-2 Meteors

    2-0 Bullets
    1-1 Enforcers
    1-1 Panthers
    0-2 Hurricanes
