National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association Presents their

2016 Coach of the Year Award

Baltimore, MD - The National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association presented their 2016 Coach of the Year Award to James Andre, Head Coach, Victor HS (NY) at the IMLCA Convention on Saturday.

Andre is the Head Coach of Victor High School’s undefeated (22-0), 2016 Class A, New York State Champion. This was Andre’s 2nd career State Lacrosse Championship in his four years as the helm of Victor HS, as his team also won the 2015 Class B, NY State Championship.  It is believed that this is the first time in any sport in NY, that a team moving up in class has won consecutive championships.  Going back to the 2015 season, Coach Andre’s teams have 44 wins and 0 losses.

“NILCA couldn’t be more excited to have named Coach Andre as our NILCA Coach of the Year,” said Ren Pettinelli, President of the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association. “What Coach Andre is accomplishing at Victor is truly amazing.  His coaching persona permeates the entire Lacrosse program from the youth through all levels of high school. Victor is poised to be a force in New York State Lacrosse, for years to come.”
