It is my pleasure to introduce myself to those that do not know me, my name is Darryl Johnson Sr. I am the President of Highland Springs Saints Youth Football and Cheerleader Association. I would first like to welcome each and everyone to our Association. We have a new board with a lot of new ideas and plans. I would like to just tell you a little bit about myself and how I have been affiliated with HSYF&C for now over 8 years, first as a parent, coach, metro rep and now President. I am a coach at heart but saw a need for more leadership in this Association and thought that I could be of help. This year the board and I are all new to our positions but we are all committed to making this one of the best Associations in the MYFL. Each and every one of us have the understanding that this is all for the kids in our community to try to nurture these kids to grow up to be productive young men and women in this very tough society. We know that it takes more than just parents at home to raise our kids it takes a village and we hope we can be a part of helping raising our kids. We at HSYF&C believe that academics comes first and want all our kids to be successful in the class room first then at home and athletics is after all of that, but from where I was raised a lot of kids used athletics as a way of keeping them out of trouble and teaching them discipline as they grew up to be fine young adults. This is something that is very dear to my heart and I want to help as many as I can. So again I welcome you to this 2009 season and I can't wait to get started.
