I-270 Youth Basketball Where we keep the FUN in FUNDAMENTALS.

On Sunday June 18th, 2017 the I-270 family lost a legend in coach Dave Griffin who passed away after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Griff led the Darnestown Area program to several I-270 championships over the past decade culminating with the 2017 Quince Orchard HS Varsity boys finishing as 4A state finalists. Each starter on that team played in I-270 and Griff coached them starting as Juniors in I-270 through JV at QO as well as an assistant Varsity coach. That team and his commitment exemplify what the I-270 program is all about: Dedication, Community, and Excellence. Griff will always be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, intelligence, competitiveness, and of course that booming voice.

In honor of his service to the I-270 community we are dedicating our Citizenship award in his name thus starting in the 2017-18 season we will recognize a player who has demonstrated dedication to his team, school, and community as the Dave Griffin Citizenship award recipient.
