John Wayne wins Golden Kingdom Show! Recieves Natural Pro Card!
IAM Fitness's Natural bodybuilding fundraiser held this past Saturday on October 20th 2007 was a big success! Although small show, the quality of the competitors was outstanding! The fundraiser is a part of a string of natural bodybuilding fundraisers across the pacific northwest and the latest even into Texas to help support its non-profit causes which are to provide free personal fitness training and mentoring to overweight, fatherless and at-risk youth in our communities.
The show started off by honoring of the kids who participated in the Ironfish Athletic Ministries kid and teen fit programs. This years participants recieved medallions and met their bodybuilding/figure supporters on stage with a touching cerimony honoring them and their achievements. Next was the figure portion of the show in which first timer Tahnie McEllrath was the only figure competitor. Tahnie was also a part of the IAM Fitness teen fit program in which she managed to trim off a substantial amount of weight and about 11% bodyfat in preparation for this event. Tahnie did a outstanding job and looks forward to further training with former IAM Fitness Figure competitor Kristina Anderson in preparation of next years event. Next on the scene was the IAM Fitness Pro natural Figure category, a new category for natural figure competitors. For this category, a special showing of former IFBB figure competitor Karen Patten was presented. What makes Karen so special is that she refused to go the drug route (or what some may call "the dark side") and put it in her heart to compete and stay drug free. Karen loves working with kids and represents very well this new category for natural figure competitors at IAM. Fitness.
We then go straight to our women's middle wt category with Suzanne Moran from Lynden WA taking the first place prize. Suzanne has a heck of a story in that she had been very sick not to long ago. In fact Suzanne was so sick that she was at the point of death. Suzanne credits God in her road to recovery through good sound advice and healthy natural supplementation through her Isogenics nutritional program. This helped Suzanne back to a sound level of health to the point of competition fitness level again.Taking a close second place was Julie Warren. Julie has only competed in three bodybuilding/figure shows and has done very well in all of them. Julie has a great heart, is very intense and also puts in time as a personal trainer to work with the kids at IAM. Fitness. next up was the light wt men's category in which John Wayne of Anchorage Alaska took the first place prize displaying a well proportioned physique which in turn also landed him the men's overall prize. John is a gifted natural bodybuilder with excellent lines and incredible muscle density to top it all off with great posing to show it off. Taking the second place prize and not far off was first timer from Aloha Oregon Paul Loeung. in a first time showing John showed great muscle definition and a potential to become a great drug free bodybuilder. In the middle wt category was 47 year old Mike Jarvi taking the first place honors. Mike is also a first timer who at one time weighed around 230lbs. At his contest wt Mike came in at a very lean 4.5 body fat percentage and 160 lbs! Taking the second place prize was Mike Coltrane who with just 1 week out of competition decided to compete just to support IAM. Fitness. For 1 week of dieting Mike still came in at about 6% body fat and was very gratified and had a great experience competing in the show. In the Light heavy wt category was big Rick Omans. With only one other show under his belt, Rick was no doubt the leanest bodybuilder on stage coming in at an incredible 3.2% body fat! The next category was truly a battle of the natural heavy weights. The posing and comparisons seem to go on and on between second timer & IAM Fitness competitor Shawn Smutts from Vancouver WA and the big Russian lion and first timer Matt Lisovoy also from Vancouver WA. In the end of the battle it was Shawn smutts who ended up with the first place trophy by coming from behind in points to head off the big Russian Matt Lisovoy. Both deserve a hats off for great preparation and great entertainment for the crowd at the Washougal high School Performing Arts Center. The IAM Fitness master category included again big Rick Omans and Mike Jarvi with Rick taking the first place hardware home while Mike took home the second place prize. Next on the list but certainly not the least was another new IAM. Fitness. professional category with men's and women's pro-natural bodybuilding. Representing this category was the pacific northwest leading natural professional bodybuilder massive Craig Toth. Craig wowed the audience with huge muscle bellies coupled with razor sharp cuts along with a powerful posing routine. Craig loves what IAM. Fitness stands for and we can be sure to see more of him next year with other natural pros coming into the Pacific Nortwest .
