How much does it cost to register my child for GVAA football?

The registration fee for all teams is $175 per player.  The fee for flag football (5 & 6 year olds) is $75.  Upon checkout, a $25 raffle ticket fundraiser fee is added to each families final amount.  Be sure to register all players in  your household at the same time to ensure that that fee is only paid one time.  The registration fee is higher this year than last because there will be no additional fundraisers other than the raffle.  However, since we will not be doing fundraising this year, the end of season banquet will be paid for by the families attending, not funded by the football program.

What is the raffle ticket fundraiser?

We hold raffle during our first home game.  During registration, each family prepays for 25 raffle tickets.  When you receive your tickets, you can sell them to friends and family.  When you sell them, you keep the cash (because you already paid GVAA for them).  You may also choose to just write your name on them and turn them.  The stubs will be collected at practices prior to the first home game.  If you wish to sell more than 25 tickets, please let us know and we will give you additional packs to sell.

Are there any discounts available?

There is a $25 early registration fee for those who register by June 1st.  This discount can only be used once per family.

This year we have a sibling discount.  The second player you register receives a $50 discount and if there is a third sibling, there is a $100 discount.

Do I have to register online?

Yes!  All football registration is done through our website.  This allows use to access all player information at the same time.  All payments are made online.  If you need to pay in cash, please purchase a Visa or Mastercard gift card and use it through the online system.  You may also bring cash payments to the uniform distribution.  No payments will be received by check.  However, registrations are incomplete until full payment is received.

How do I know which team my child will be on?

Players are assigned teams based on their age as of September 1st, 2015.  There are no exceptions to this rule unless your player exceeds the weight limit for their age-level team and need to move up.  We do not allow players to move up or down based on experience or to play with siblings or friends.

What equipment will my child receive and what do I need to purchase?

GVAA provides almost all the equipment your child will need to play football- a helmet, shoulder pads, rib protector, a mouth piece and a 7 pad set that fits inside your player's pants.  You will also receive a pair of practice pants and two uniforms- a home uniform and an away uniform.

You will need to provide a practice jersey, cleats and an athletic supporter.

What are uniform and concession deposit checks used for?

For each player, you will need to provide a $100 uniform deposit check.  If you have more than one player, you must submit a separate check for each player.  At the end of the season, your check will be shredded when we receive all equipment and uniform pieces in acceptable condition.  If anything is lost or ruined, you will need to replace them.  The $100 check will be cashed and used to replace anything that is missing or broken.  If the cost is less than $100, you will receive the difference in a refund from GVAA.  If the cost is more than $100, you will receive an invoice for the difference.  We understand that there will be normal wear and tear on both equipment and uniforms.  The check will only be used to replace anything that is missing or ruined by misuse.

The concession deposit check will be held until you have fulfilled your time in concession stand.  Upon completion, you will receive your check back.

What else do I need to register my child for football?

A copy of your child's birth certificate is needed for all players except flag.  If your child played last year, we should still have your child's birth certificate on file.  If your child is moving from flag to mini-pony, please submit a birth certificate.

Your child must have all paperwork and fees turned in to be able to practice.  There are no exceptions to this rule!
