Quick Tip
When you start your foot movement, do NOT drop your hands! To avoid pulling out and heading towards first, Over-exaggerate your angle and *head towards the shortstop (versus heading towards the pitcher).
Remember- *the main goal of slapping is to get on base! Not to hit a home run. So a ground ball is ideal; the higher the bounce, the more time to get down the line. Your contact point should be coming down on the ball versus parallel or punching when hitting away.
Helpful Drill
One helpful drill is to walk through the slap without a bat on a tee. Literally slap (push) the ball to the left side with your left hand. This reinforces keeping your hands inside the ball and developing an "inside out swing" as well as staying on top of the ball.
