A wreath-laying event takes place each December at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon to honor our fallen. The event's mission is to secure donations to purchase wreaths, ensuring that each grave site at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is recognized and honored during the holiday season.  The group in charge of this project is also concentrating on raising awareness for this program in December and encouraging other civic groups, organizations and individuals to join in this effort each year.

This year's event will be taking place on December 12, 2009 (Saturday) beginning at 9 a.m. and it is open to the public.  The wreaths are $15 each or 3 for $30.  They will be displayed on (hopefully) each of the vets graves till January 9, 2010.

Additionally,  volunteers are needed to remove the wreaths in January (no sign-up or donations necessary,  just a few helping hands).
