Dawgs Play With Depleted Roster
Los Angeles, CA - For the third game in a row the Law Dawgs played with a depleted squad. After returning from a mid-season break the Dawgs were missing their offensive scoring machine Mike Mgdesyan and their emotional on-court leader George "Mad Dawg" Mgdesyan. Playing without these key players the Law Dawgs were soundly defeated on July 13th and lost Shaw Yadegar to an injury in the 2nd half which cause him to be placed on the injured list until further notice.
After a much needed BYE the Dawgs once again took to the floor with out their key players. It looked like another loss was unavoidable for the Law Dawgs, however, due to an amazing team effort in the first half and a 21 point half time lead, the Dawgs were able to withstand a comeback by the No Ringers and pulled off a 4 point win. It seemed that the team was going to fall apart and blow their lead in the 2nd half but the No Ringers' horrible 1st half was too much to overcome even though they held the Law Dawgs to 7 points in the second half.
On August 3, 2006 the Law Dawgs once again took to the floor with a depleted squad, however this time at the start of the game the Dawgs had only four players. Playing 4 on 5 against a Yetties team who had 5 subs on the bench the Law Dawgs were able to lead the entire game and by the time Hovik Soibatian got to the gym the Dawgs were leading 18-9. After some good team play mixed with some ugly efforts by the Club the Law Dawgs managed to pull out another win against The Yetties, keeping their record perfect against the much weaker club. It was reported that the Yetties were anxious to earn their first win against the Dawgs but it was not meant to be and they had to return home with their heads hung low.
Team Notes:
-
Ralph Mgdesyan has broken the record for most shot attempts in a game. His shot attempts in the last 3 games have surpassed the entire shot attempts in club history. He also set the club record for worst shooting percentage 3 games in a row shooting well below 18%.
-
Nick Parseghian suffered a knee injury in the last game and his statues is day-to-day.
-
George Mgdesyan is set to return to the club after missing the last 3 games. It seems George traveled to Miami to consult with Shaq after hearing that no matter how many points a player scores in a game its the Championships that matters.
-
Mike Mgdesyan is holding out and will miss the rest of the season. Inside sources have said he is upset that Ralph is taking more shots than him and is very mad that Shaq and the Miami Heat won the NBA Finals without Kobe Bryant.
-
Shaw Yadegar is on the injury list until further notice.
-
John Mgdesyan filled in George's shoes and caused another game to be called off by the referees with over 2 minutes left in the 2nd half.
