Six In A Row?
Beverly Hills, CA - After beating the defending champions Varsity in a thrilling over-time victory and getting a three point win over No Name the next week, the Law Dawgs were looking to take their winning streak to six. However, a determined UBS team had decided to start a winning streak of their own. The game started with the Law Dawgs playing down to their competition, allowing UBS to believe they had a chance. Some minutes later in the first half Edward Hardy took over the game and finished the half with 22 points to give the Law Dawgs a 36-17 half-time lead. The second half started with UBS scoring back to back baskets and outplaying the Law Dawgs on both end's of the floor. The Dawgs were on a cold streak which was broken by the rookie Hovhannes Nalbandyan scoring three baskets in a row. Thanks to great team play and hustle the Dawgs pulled off the victory with the final score of 68-43. Edward Hardy finished the night with 30 while Hovhannes Nalbandyan finished with 22 (15 in the second half). The Club has now won six in a row, which is a franchise record. Next week's game against Seven features an interesting match up between the Law Dawgs very own Naz Parseghian and the Seven's Pak Daddy. Stay tuned ..
** Team Notes - On 10/18/07 vs. Varsity, Hovik Soibatian hit a three pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. Thanks to his hustle play and the entire team's hard work the Law Dawgs pulled off a 9 point win against their arch rivals and took first place in the standings. On a sad note John Mgdesyan is out for the rest of the season. He is joined on the bench by Arash Hashemi who dislocated his ankle prior to the start of the season.
