Beverly Hills, CA - Even though the Tribe of Chiefs were ranked #3 in the playoffs they had won the regular season series against the #2 Law Dawgs two games to one. the Law Dawgs only victory came in the first meeting of the season by a 2 point margin. In the other two games Tribe of Chiefs dominated the Law Dawgs winning both games by a combined 20 points. So when both teams took to the floor in the 1st round of the playoffs they had something to prove. Tribe started the game with only four players and the Law Dawgs took advantage of it. By the time the 5th Chief had arrived to help the Tribe they were down by 12. The Dawgs played hard and never let the Chiefs get closer than 5 points. With 5 seconds left in the first half Naz hit a 3-pointer to give the Dawgs a double digit lead. The second half proved to be just as competitive as the first with both teams playing hard. The Tribe fought back hard and at one pint took the lead. After exchanging baskets the score was tied with about 30 seconds left in the game. The Law Dawgs had position of the ball and were determined to hold the ball for one last shot. After taking time of the clock the Law Dawgs drove down the middle and kicked the ball outside with less than 10 seconds left. A shot was put up and the Dawgs had the lead once again. Without any timeouts left the Tribe pushed the ball up court and attempted to score but failed to do so. It just shows that nothing can be done when you have too many chiefs and not enough indians. It was a sweet ending to a heated rivalry which saw the Dawgs reserve a place in the Championships against the hated Junior Varsity squad on March 1, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
