2008 Nationals Cooperstown, NY
The 2008 12U Sidewinders had a great run at the Cooperstown Dreamspark National Tournament August 16th-21st in a field of 99 teams. Track their success at www.cooperstowndreamspark.com week # 11. They went 6-1 in pool play, earned the 16th seed and a bye in the opening round of the elimination tournament. The loss was to the eventual tournament champion "California Lumberjacks", although the Sidewinders had them down 3-2 but couldn't hold them. The Sidewinders beat the Las Vegas Barracudas in a thrilling 8-7 game that came down to the last pitch. They also beat the Farmington Hills, MI team 3-2 on a straight steal of home with 2 outs in the last inning, before bowing out to an excellent Seattle Select team 12-9, after leading 5-1. It was a tremendous experience for players, coaches, and families.
