Congratulations to Cassie Lyons who recently signed to play for NCAA Division 1 outfit the Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville this fall. Cassie, currently with the MCU U17 girls side, was a captain in her senior year with the South Portland Red Riots and was named Defensive MVP in 2007 and 2008.
Golden Eagles head coach Becky Smith said: "Cassie is a great addition to our backline.
"She is athletic, has good speed, reads the game well and tackles hard. She is comfortable with the ball at her feet and serves a very good ball also."
