Hello Parents,

I wanted to let you know about a new program LCRAC is starting in July. We will be launching a Scholarship Program to help Lexington County residents participate in recreational activities. We will need everyone’s help in making this program a success.

This scholarship program is designed to provide supplemental financial assistance to anyone who may not otherwise be able to participate in activities offered by Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission and/or Independent Community Leagues.

Lexington County residents can apply for financial assistance to cover registration cost. Once scholarships are approved, residents will be able to receive vouchers for 50%, 75% or 90% of all registration costs. The amount of the award will be determined by the total household income and size.  There are certain fees associated with programs and activities that will not be covered by the scholarship program. Recipients of the scholarship will be responsible for paying those fees.

The Lexington County Scholarship Program is available for any activity, program or class sponsored by the Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission. It is also available for any recreational programs sponsored by Independent Community Leagues.  Scholarships cannot be used for all-star or try-out teams, and travel teams.

We have started a partnership with Buffalo Wild Wings, in Lexington, to donate a portion of their sales each month to fund this program. The first Wednesday  of every month is now Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission night. The first benefit day to help start off the funds for the Scholarship Program will be April 1^st, 2015 from 11:00am-10:00pm.  All you have to do is present a ticket to your server and let them know you are there to support Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission. I have attached the promotional ticket to this email.  All of the proceeds from this benefit night will be used to provide scholarships for the youth, teens, adults and seniors in Lexington County.

We would love to see everyone out at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Lexington on April 1^st.
