As Nick J. went, sometimes so did the Astros. Nick J. always seemed to be right in the middle of every play. His speed and leadoff capability often started an Astros rally. His defensive play behind the plate often was a major asset for Astros pitchers. Nick's style of play and spirit livened up the Astros bench when they needed it the most.
Nick sometimes carried the entire load behind the plate, often catching doubleheaders. He led the team in walks with 24 and also in stolen bases with 21. His leadoff ability and speed often was the catalyst to an Astros rally. He also batted .342 with a .500 on base percentage.
