Educational Programs

The Nampa PAL not only focuses on sports and fun outside activities but, we also want to help kids develop scholastically. We have two programs in our educational component program:

SOAR
This is a program for Nampa School Districts 8th grade students. Students sign up to participate in the program early in the school year. Their goal is to raise their GPA one full point or maintain a 3.0 GPA. If they reach this goal, they are eligible to go to Boondocks Fun Center for an all day, all access, day away from school. This year, we will be taking a trip to Boondocks in May.

Reading Challenge
Nampa PAL has encouraged thousands of kids to take time and read. We feel that reading is a fundamental part of learning; it is important to know how to read well. In this program, fourth grade boys and girls are encouraged to meet and exceed their reading goals. The kids that reach or exceed their goals are then treated to a trip to POJOS fun Center in Boise for a full day of fun and all you can eat pizza. This year’s trip will be on April 4, 2008.
