2013 Naperville Diamonds Graduates Attend College Exposure Practice during Winter Break

Amy Cecil - University of Illinois Springfield
Lexi Ellstrom - University of Pikeville
Lauren Cairo - Rockhurst University
Brittany Warnecke - Texas Tech University
Brooke Meyer - Penn State University

2013 graduates Amy, Lexi, Lauren, Brittany and Brooke visited Matrix practice over the winter holiday to share their experiences living college softball (or hockey, in Brooke’s case) and attending their perspective schools.

They not only practiced with the Matrix, but led open discussions on what to expect when you attend college and play collegiate softball.  They covered all topics including their daily routine with softball, how many hours a day involve softball and how many involve studying, how they each juggle their stringent athletic life with managing classes.  They even were nice enough to openly discuss their social life, or complete lack of a social life!!!

They all are thriving in softball and as freshman already making great contributions to their teams at a young age.  The entire coaching staff and their teammates are very proud to have coached and played with such great student-athletes.

More importantly, these young ladies serve as excellent role models for our younger Diamonds players.  Both Lauren Cairo and Brooke Meyer will be full-time assistant coaches the summer of 2014.  Lauren will be coaching with the 14U “A” Naperville Diamonds Cramer Hawks and Brooke will be coaching with the 18U College Exposure Matrix.
