Heartbreaker
The Wolfpack traveled to Farmington for the NMPFL Championship Saturday, and as expected it was a hard-hitting affair. The pack jumped out on the Roughnecks 13-7 early in the game with an interception returned for a touchdown by Aaron Brack. Farmington responded midway through the second quarter to take the lead but was answered by a field goal from Lawrence Samuel to take a 16-15 lead into half time. The third quarter was a defensive battle with both teams failing to score. As the quarter was winding down Isaac Landours making a 38 yard run barely getting caught by a diving Roughneck to catch his foot and save the touchdown. In the fourth quarter the Pack couldn't seem to keep the yellow flags of the field. an offsides and pass interference penalty gave the Roughnecks great field position before the Pack defense tightened up to stop the roughnecks for the fourth tine in the redzone. The following play resulted in a Wolfpack fumble which was returned for a touchdown and the first of 2 scores to give the Roughnecks the 27-16 victory. The Wolfpack still Qualify for the FWFA Tournament with the Roughnecks failing to move on, their next opponent is to be determined.
