    Winter 2007-2008 Season

During the Winter Season we have no practices because the majority of the players already have practice every day for their school teams, not to mention their travel, CYO, etc. teams. We have 1 game a week in the Hoop Zone League or in the IYB league. The leagues usually run from late December/early January to late February/early March, but it varies based on snow days, etc.

During the winter 2006-2007 season, the 5th and 6th grade team participated in the 8th grade Hoop Zone league. They won two games, ending their season with a record of 2-6. There were two 7th and 8th grade Blast teams, both of which participated in the 8th-10th grade IYB league. One tied for third place. The other made it to the championship game and got second place. This team also won the Cresskill Holiday Tournament and the Turkey Roast Tournament. With the tournaments, scrimmages, and league games they played, they ended for a combined record of 25-4. During the winter 2005-2006 season we had one 5th and 6th grade team participate in the Hoop Zone league and two 7th and 8th grade teams participate in the 7th-9th grade bracket in the IYB league. The 5th and 6th grade team made it to the play-offs, but opted not to play because we had a tournament scheduled the same weekend and would not have been able to get back in time. Both 7th and 8th grade teams had the same record in the IYB league, tying for 2nd place before play-offs. A coin was flipped to determine which team got the 2nd seed and which team got the 3rd seed. One team made it to the semi-final and tied for 3rd place and the other made it to the championship and placed 2nd.

WINTER 2006-2007: Congratulations to #5 for winning the MVP award for the 5th and 6th grade team! #5 was the first winner this season for the Player of the Game award and was often voted for again. She had a game high of 22 points one game and in our last game, she stole the ball from the opposing team's best player and scored the game winning shot at the buzzer. Congratulations to the following high scorers from the 7th and 8th grade teams: 1st place: #45 with 220 points, 2nd place #23 with 139 points, and 3rd place #11 (K.N) with 123 points. WINTER 2005-2006: Congratulations to the following players for being high scorers during the winter season: The 5th and 6th Grade Team (out of an 8 game-season): 1st place on the team and in the program: #23 with 121 points! 2nd place: #45 with 49 points! 3rd place: #13 with 42 points! 4th place: #25 with 34 points! The 7th and 8th Grade Teams (this is out of both teams - player's initials are used since numbers frequently changed): 1st place K.N. with 72 points! Tied for 2nd place: A.V. and A.H. both with 60 points! 3rd place: C.S. with 47 points! 4th place: S.G. with 42 points! 5th place J.S. with 40 points! 6th place: D.B-G. with 38 points! 7th place: D.M. with 37 points!

The season tuition for the winter is based on the number of people on each team. (IYB is $1300, so that is divided by however many players are on the team and Hoop Zone is $950 and that too is divided by however many players are on the team).
