NEMHA Conduct Reminder for All

Respect in Sport is a commitment to create a positive environment for hockey players. Northeast Minor Hockey Association (NEMHA), like all other associations under Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, will adhere to and enforce a zero tolerance for conduct unbecoming this philosophy.

Unfortunately, this season has already seen situations where players and parents actions have met with consequences to uphold this message. Several parents from around the metro area will not be able to enjoy their team’s activities or watch their children play as negative behavior has seen them ejected from rinks in the area for extended periods. These are not examples NEMHA wants to set for any of our members or players nor is it a positive hockey experience for anyone involved.

Players, coaches and parents should be respectful on and off the ice. Abuse of officials, use of foul language, destructive behavior or any other action unbecoming as reported and confirmed will result in disciplinary consequences and will be recorded against the good standing of player/coach/ parent.

Let’s keep the focus on the game.
