Andersen, Haverfield lead Dillon boys past Belgrade

Troy Andersen dominated inside with 25 points, Tanner Haverfield hit five 3-pointers for 24 points, and the Dillon boys basketball team shot down visiting Belgrade, 63-50, to pull within one win of a perfect regular season.

Haverfield hit four of his treys in the first half as the top-ranked Beavers (17-0, 7-0 Southwest A) jumped out to a 30-21 lead at the break in the matchup of district leaders.

Andersen added 14 of his points after halftime to help hold off long-range onslaught from Brock Salsbury of Belgrade (13-4, 7-1 Central A). Salsbury hit seven 3-pointers in the game, including six in the second half, to finish with a team-high 24 points.

Michael Haverfield added all eight of his points, including a pair of treys, in the third quarter for Dillon.Dillon can wrap up its perfect regular season with a home win over Corvallis on Saturday.
