2016 Squirt (K-1) Rules

1.      Equipment needed: 

a.      Can use soccer cleats or softball cleats

b.      Glove

c.       Can use bicycle helmet or we will provide game time helmets

d.      We will have helmets, bats and balls (10” softie)

2.      Game length is 55 minutes

3.      Rainouts:  make up days will be scheduled on a different week day depending upon field availability

4.      The umpire is the pitcher. 

5.      Hitting Rules:  Three pitches.  Not hit then off T.

6.      Batter hits ball over the bases she can attempt a home run, otherwise you take one base at a time.

a.      Last batter hits home run; ok…keeps running until out.

7.      Batters must wear helmet at bat and base running

8.      Bat lineup then switch sides

a.      Players will be called out/safe however will always run bases.

9.      Players cannot play outfield two innings back to back.  Rotate through all positions.

10.  To keep game running smooth it is advisable to have a parent assist with the batters getting ready and in line.  Use your parents. 

11.  Safety is a priority.

12.  Home team listed first

13.  Games are played at the small diamond at the Brooklyn Legion Park

14.  Practice Dates:  May 31, June 7 and July 5^th

a.      You can schedule practice for the Brooklyn field or another field we have available that night.  Time/location is dependent on coach and field availability.
