IMPROVED BLAZERS GIVE THAME RUN FOR THEIR MONEY

BLAZERS 49 - 83 Thame Tigers

OxHoops Blazers, HOOPS Oxon & Bucks development team shows tremendous improvement in less than 2 weeks and gives Thame a scare or 2 during the game. Thame's 6'8" Steve Dutton and fast guard Damien Hughes proved far too strong and experienced for Blazers to handle. However, when they were not on court Blazers had the upper hand! Lots more to come from our Blazers!

Coach David Smith had a challenge in his hands and he hoped that the training that has taken place over the last 2 weeks will prove to be invaluable, especially since Blazers have been giving away 120+ points against top 4 teams (Stealers, Eagles and Sonics), so the biggest target was to stop Thame reaching 100 and increase scoring (Blazers average 46 pts per game), amazingly Blazers did just that, Thame scored 83 points and had 31 turn-overs in the game, at the same time Blazers scored 49 pts (3 higher than their average). Well done Coach.

"We wanted to have an effective help D as well as a sound rotation to make sure Thame had a hard time every time, we had to keep Steve out of the zone and we failed doing that, Steve out rebounded Blazers on his own!, but today let's celebrate what we did well and our small milestone. The Coaching staff will work on the next milestone and hopefully we'll achieve it again!" Coach David Smith.

It was great to see the Big guys use movement and make good decisions in play, Rumo, Jan, John and Carlo really took Thame apart more than once frustrating Tigers' own players and giving Blazers a taste of what good offensive movement gives the team.
