    What is Cub Scouting?
Welcome to Pack 19, Middletown, Ohio
Pack 19 is chartered through First Baptist Church in Middletown at the Corner of Riverview and Breiel. We are part of the Dan Beard Council, which encompasses Northern Kentucky and Southwestern Ohio, with the northernmost county being Butler County. There are 8 districts under the Dan Beard Council and we are part of the Hopewell District.

Our organization meets monthly as a Pack at First Baptist Church from September to May, with monthly activities during the summer.

There are 5 levels in each Pack: Tiger Cubs (1st grade), Wolf Cubs (2nd grade), Bear Cubs (3rd grade), Jr. WEBELOS (4th grade), and Sr. WEBELOS (5th grade). We further divide into dens, which we try to limit to 10 boys to keep things manageable.

Dens are run independent of the Pack and usually meet 2 to 3 times a month. Each den is comprised of a Den Leader with all parents in the Den responsible for helping out and leading different activities. It is the responsibility of the Den leader to schedule meetings, which can be held at individual homes or at First Baptist Church and put together a meeting schedule corresponding to activities in the Cub Scout Book. In addition parents can schedule field trips to places like fire and police stations, nature centers, and fishing ponds depending on your interest.

Each Cub Scout is required to have a Cub Scout Book (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos). As the boys complete activities the Den leader or parents sign off in the book. Some activities are done at home. When the required activities in the book are completed the Cub Scout advances to the next level-for example earning the Wolf Badge and moving on to Bears. When joining the Pack at a level higher than Tigers (for example Bears) you do not have to go back and complete the Tiger and Wolf Badge.

Boys that have finished Sr. WEBELOS or are 11 years of age are eligible to become Boy Scouts and join a Troop. Boy Scout Troop 18 is chartered through First Baptist Church and meets on Tuesday night.
