Lokey Is New Varsity Head Coach

The Palmyra Ice Hockey Club is excited to announce the hiring of Zach Lokey as head coach of the Varsity high school team.  Zach replaces Warren Lewis who led the Cougars to back-to-back Bears Cup Championships before stepping down.

Zach is a native of Elizabethtown where he led the Etown High School varsity ice hockey team in scoring in each of his 4 years.  He was the CPIHL League MVP for the 2007-2008 season.  After high school, Zach played junior hockey for the New York Applecore of the Empire Junior Hockey League in 2008-2009 where he was named to the EmJHL All-Star team.  In 2009-2010, he played junior hockey for the Gloucester Rangers (Ottawa, ON) of the Central Junior Hockey League.  Zach was recruited to play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of New England.  He played four years for the UNE Nor'easters and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management in 2014.  Zach amassed 21 goals, 38 assists, 59 points in 92 games played in his collegiate career and was the school's leading scorer at the time.

After his playing days, Zach was the Head Player Skills Instructor at Progressive Hockey Development in Sterling, VA.  He served as Head Coach of the MJHL Central Penn Panthers Junior B team for the 2015-2016 season.  Zach coaches youth hockey with the Lancaster Firebirds.  He was the assistant coach of the DVHL U16AA team last year and now serves as the team's head coach for the 2017-2018 season.
