Parents,
As you know PAL Little League registration fees are $90.00 per child. Unfortunately, the cost to run the league is approximately $124.00 per participant giving us a shortfall of $34.00 per participant which, in years past has been covered by fundraising. At this time PAL Baseball is looking at ways to reduce expenses without negatively impacting our league. Our current umpiring program costs approximately $40.00 per participant (approximately $40,000.00 per season).
PAL Little League Baseball is actively seeking volunteer umpires to reduce expenses and provide mentorship to our youth umpires. All volunteers will be trained locally by Little League officials.
Last spring PAL Little League baseball registered over 900 players. 50 volunteers would tremendously impact our league both financially and fundamentally. Our game schedule will include games on Tuesday nights, Wednesday nights and Saturdays, we will not schedule a parent to umpire during their child's game.
