Baseball / Softball Players Eligibility Borders

BIG League has established new eligibility borders for our members. This information has been distributed to all of our member organizations.
If you have any questions, please contact our office @ 412-488-8585.

There will be major policy changes affecting team registrations as of the 2015 season.

A “non- eligible” player is defined as a player that resides outside of the borders established for participating members of BIG League as described in the BIG League rules. Current roster rules allow for up to four (4) “non - eligible” players.
New for 2015 – All teams will be limited to no more than three (3) “non – eligible” players.
Current borders for ALL members of BIG League are comprised of ALL of the school districts of those members. Those districts are Pittsburgh, Wilkinsburg, Woodland Hills, Carlynton, Duquesne, and McKeesport. All members were permitted to draw players from any of those school districts for their “eligible “players.
New for 2015 – The new borders for All City of Pittsburgh based organizations will be comprised of the City of Pittsburgh School District only. Any players rostered on a City of Pittsburgh based team from outside of this school district will be considered as a “non – Eligible” player.

New for 2015 – The new borders for All RBI based organizations that are located outside of the City of Pittsburgh will be comprised of those current RBI school Districts. McKeesport, Woodland Hills, Wilkinsburg, Duquesne and Carlynton.  If an RBI organization is located within the City of Pittsburgh, they will be relegated to the City of Pittsburgh School District. Any player rostered on an RBI team from outside of those school districts will be considered as a “non – eligible” player.

Note: School districts are based on where a player lives, not necessarily where they go to school.  A player may attend a private school within the City of Pittsburgh but live in Wilkinsburg. That player’s school district is Wilkinsburg.
