Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. Tournament Game vs IMG Academy (at Seminole High School)
Coach Tom Hilbert and The Palm Harbor Hurricanes traveled to Seminole High School to take on the national powerhouse squad IMG Academy to start their 2016 season. The Canes were out hit only six hits to their four hits, but the Ascenders - with quality pitching, speed and timely hitting - managed to shut out Palm Harbor 6-0.
Senior Brian Brown got the nod on the hill for the Hurricanes pitching two innings with a strikeout. Senior Colt Mink came in relief for three innings notching two strikeouts of his own. Senior Kyle Bailey also had two strikeouts in his two innings of work on the mound as well.
Offensively, the Canes scattered four hits from Senior AJ Hrica (1-2, walk), Senior Riley Degnan (1-2, walk) , Senior Adam Jurco (1-3) and Junior Daniel Nicolls (1-3).
Palm Harbor faces the Warhawks of Seminole High School this Thursday, Feb 4 at 7:00 pm at Seminole High School.
