Dealing with NEGETIVE A-B'S
Dealing with a string of NEGETIVE plate appearances

Now that the season is under way, some ball players are finding themselves in little FUNKS! I don't like the word SLUMP. I don't like to use the word slump because it feels so negative . It does a lot of damage to the mind.

The mind is a very strong thing and when you tell yourself that you are in a slump it tells your mind that something is wrong. You then try even harder and put more pressure on yourself that is not needed. Hitting a baseball, throwing a strike, and making outs is hard enough as it is when you are in the zone, never the less putting unneeded pressure on yourself making things ten times worse.

I am writing this article because I feel that when the going gets tough or the the beginning of the season doesn't start out the way you would like or have hoped. Step back, take one game at at time, one pitch at a time and take a deep breathe. Think about the job at hand.. go over in your head how much you have prepared for this situation and let your mind and body be placed on auto pilot - as your body will then allow it to do what comes natural and this will help.

Take a deep breathe and visualize what you would like the outcome to be and actually close your eyes and invision it happening. The results will be amazing and Have Fun!!
