PDL Honors Seals Keeper Eric Conner
Seals Keeper Eric Conner, had six saves last Saturday against the San Fernando Valley Quakes.  Two of those save were outstanding and preserved a 0-0 draw against a team that will likely move on to the playoffs.

Quakes defender Mike Zaher unleashed a left-footed thunderbolt which Conner tipped round the post, impressing the crowd and the Quakes.  As the clock ticked down, and with crowd screaming a chorus of accompaniment to every attack, the Quakes threw everything forward. A last-minute corner found Quakes midfielder Sean Franklin’s forehead, but his powerful header was grabbed by Conner, and the Seals survived.

Eric Conner, out of USF, has stepped in this year to fill in for a game, and never stepped out!

Tom Simpson added Eric to the roster figuring on a role as our 4th keeper. "We had not really expected such an outstanding season from Eric, but when the other keepers weren't available Eric stepped into the starting spot, and never gave it up!  He's never had a bad game."

Eric, a Southern Californian, played this past season with the USF Don's, after playing the prior season for UCLA.  "Eric did not really get a lot of playing time for either school, but then both schools had great keepers ahead of Eric" noted Simpson.

The Seals have appreciated his work this season!  Congratulations to Eric for a job well done!
