Four SMCHS Alum Drafted to play in Major League Baseball!
Alumni Trayce Thompson '09, Nick Wagner '09, Michael Brady '05, and Danny Bibona '06 were all selected in the Major League Baseball 2009 Amateur Draft.
Trayce was selected in the 2nd round (61st overall pick) by the Chicago White Sox.
He hit .333 this season with 9 Home Runs & 24 runs scored. He was selected 1st team All Trinity League & made All Orange County 1st team.
Jondle, head Baseball coach said, “Trayce has improved greatly in the last year & had an outstanding senior season. The sky is the limit for Trayce because he has a strong work ethic & has a true love of the game.”
Wagner, #25 at SMCHS, was chosen in the 44th round by the Toronto Blue Jays. He is an outfielder.
Brady was drafted to the Florida Marlins. He has played for CAL for the past 4 years as their 3rd baseman.
Danny, now playing at UC Irvine, was drafted in the 16th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. Danny is their left handed pitcher.
