RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The offense absolutely surged on Wednesday as the Bombers defeated the OC Waves 20-6 in seven innings.  The Bombers combined for 22 hits as a team.

The scoring started early as the Bombers struck for eight runs in the top of the first.  Joey Magro got things started with a double and took third on a passed ball.  Chris Sandberg then reached on an error, knocking in Magro.  Aaron Meers and Jerron Largusa hit back-to-back singles to load the bases for Collin Gairing who knocked in two with a single of his own.  The barrage of offense continued as Eric Mendez knocked in another run with an RBI single.  Jacob Felix walked to put a runner in scoring position for Ruben Rios whose single knocked in another.  He would later come in to score the eighth run of the inning.

The Waves got two back in the top of the second, but the Bombers quickly answered back with five more.

Meers led off the second inning with a walk followed by a single from Largusa.  Gairing knocked in the pair with a double.  Mendez then doubled and was knocked in by a single from Rios.  Nolan Hoff kept the inning going with an RBI double before Magro knocked him in with a single.

The Bombers continued to score often, putting up a three spot in the bottom of the third.  There were two hits in the inning, but all three runs scored on passed balls and wild pitches.

Anthony Villegas finished his outing in the top of the fourth.  He allowed four runs on five hits.

Tanner Gilmore led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk and would come aroud to score on a single from Hoff. He was knocked in by a big home run off the bat of Margo.  Meers followed this up with a big fly off the scoreboard in left field to put the Bombers up 20-4.

Christian Beyer took over in relief in the top of the fifth and gave up two runs.   Dylan Simcik threw a scoreless top of the sixth, allowing just one hit while striking out one.  Brenden Bergen came in in the top of the seventh and faced the minimum, striking out one.

The top of the seventh was capped off by a diving play by Drew Bjorn at third to get the runner at first for the final out of the game.

Seven different Bombers recorded a multi-hit game in the slugfest.  Gairing led the team with four RBI and Largusa went 5-for-5.  Hoff and Meers each had four hits.  Both Meers and Margo were a triple shy of the cycle.

The Bombers look to keep the offense rolling as they head into a weekend series against the reigning SCCBL Champion San Diego Force.  The series begins on Friday in San Diego at 5 p.m.
